BDC Representative / Appointment Scheduler

We are seeking energetic individuals to join our unique and fast-paced Business Development Team.

In this role, you will be the link between the buyer and their future vehicle. You will assist the customer with questions regarding the company, perspective vehicles, and their ability to purchase. You will learn about all of the newest vehicles and technologies on the market. We have an in-house training team dedicated to your success; offering online and in-store training programs with our manufacturers.

Responsibilities
  • Answer customer calls and covert inquiring customers into physical showroom appointments
  • Respond quickly to internet, phone and live chat inquiries using email, phone and live chat scripts and templates while building rapport with prospects
  • Provide customers with initial product information & create excitement surrounding the dealership, the manufacturer and their car of interest.
  • Present initial financing options based on customer needs
  • Follow up with no-shows to reschedule in a timely fashion and confirm appointments set
  • Create and maintain a list/database of potential clients and update client files appropriately in our CRM
  • Provide a best in class customer experience and respond to each prospect's needs in a timely fashion
  • Participate in team & process development sessions - keeping positive relationships with teammates, sales teams and dealership management
  • Utilize CRM tracking system daily, AutoAlert, Web Site and other system resources
  • Maintain appointment setting quota's and contacts per hour goals
Qualifications

  • At least one previous role with sales quota's or appointment setting or inside sales required
  • Ideally experienced in customer service and/or customer experience roles
  • Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Extremely strong follow up and follow through skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and a sense of responsibility to the needs of our customers/prospects
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Team player attitude, self-motivated, adaptable and flexible
  • Prompt and courteous
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Must be willing to work varying shifts to include evenings and weekends are required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approach, greet, and offer assistance to customers who enter the dealership lot or showroom.
  • Develop a very strong understanding of automobiles and our offerings; including features, trim levels, capabilities, competitive models, etc.
  • Qualify customers by understanding their requirements and interests and using this information to determine the best vehicle and options to fit their needs.
  • Demonstrate and perform "walk-around" by successfully explaining features, safety, characteristics.
  • Perform test-drives and explain warranties, safety ratings, and fuel mileage.
  • Overcome objections in a highly efficient manner to close deals; negotiate and ask for deals, complete pre-sale documents, work with customer's insurance companies.
  • Set realistic expectations with customer and guide them throughout the entire vehicle purchasing process.
  • Develop strong rapport with new and repeat customers to ensure repeat business and referrals; suggesting trade-ins, responding quickly to customer inquiries, recommending various sales campaigns.
  • Follow-up with sold and unsold clients through various tools and software.
  • Report to sales manager and general manager regarding new and pending deals, objectives, daily activities, and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Past automotive sales experience preferred
  • Ability and desire to achieve individual and departmental goals
  • Punctual and reliable- able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone, via email and text, and face-to-face.
  • Must have unrestricted availability to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Pre- Employment background to include: MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) and hair follicle drug test.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventative maintenance such as engine tune -ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters
  • Maintain vehicle in functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage
  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems • Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  •  Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Keep shop area neat and clean
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management 
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
  •  Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Participate and keep up to date with on the job training and continuing education required by Manufacturers, Vendors and other outside sources as requested by Management.

  • Organize vehicles based on make and model.
  • Replace signs on vehicles.
  • Inspect delivery of vehicles to ensure no damage during transport.
  • Pick up or deliver customers or cars as needed.
  • Clean up the lot as needed.
