Nissan recently ranked second overall—and first among mass-market brands—in the prestigious J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), marking a significant milestone in its quality performance. Measured by problems reported per 100 vehicles (PP100) within the first 90 days of ownership, Nissan’s score of 169 PP100 led all mainstream competitors and was only marginally behind premium brands like Lexus.
Nissan Models That Stood Out Amongst The Crowd
Several key Nissan models were highlighted: the Altima topped the midsize car category, and the Sentra led compact cars. Nissan’s Rogue, Frontier, and Pathfinder each placed in the top three of their respective segments. These achievements reflect Nissan’s strategic focus on improving build quality, addressing typical owner-reported issues, and enhancing the overall driving experience.
